Carob Seed Production and Supply Process

Carob kernel is a valuable agricultural raw material obtained by separating it from the fruit pulp during the processing of ripe carob fruit. Carob kernels, which have a hard and durable structure; It can be processed for use in food, hydrocolloid, cosmetics and different industrial applications.

At Carob Türkiye, we manage the process from separating the seeds from the carob fruit to cleaning, screening, quality control, packaging, storage, and shipment with a controlled supply approach. The beans obtained are prepared in accordance with the intended use and industrial needs of our customers and offered as wholesale raw materials.

The production process begins with the intake of ripe and suitable quality carob fruits to the processing facility. The fruits are checked for their physical properties before processing and transferred to the production line. The fruits are crushed by mechanical processes to separate the seed from the fruit pulp. At this stage, the aim is to separate the seeds in the carob fruit as efficiently as possible and to obtain a raw material suitable for subsequent processing.

After crushing, the carob kernels are separated from the flesh and other parts of the fruit. Using mechanical separation and screening systems, the kernels are taken into a separate product stream. The kernels obtained at this stage are not yet considered as the final commercial product. Fruit residues are transferred to the cleaning and sorting stage to separate small fragments and impurities.

The separated beans are cleaned of fruit residues and other foreign substances that may be present on their surface. Then, a more homogeneous seed raw material is obtained by applying sieving and classification processes. The cleaning and screening stage is an important step in increasing the physical purity of the product and making it suitable for different industrial uses.

Cleaned carob seeds are subjected to quality control. Seeds; It is evaluated in terms of general appearance, cleanliness, integrity, size and physical properties. Products that meet the appropriate quality criteria are classified within the commercial batch. Thus, it is aimed to protect the batch integrity of the raw material to be sent to the customer and the determined product properties.

Carob kernels can be the raw material for different further processing processes depending on their intended use. In particular, the endosperm part of the kernel is an important raw material in the production of locust bean gum or Locust Bean Gum (E410). Therefore, the clean, homogeneous, and process-friendly preparation of the kernels is important for the efficiency of subsequent industrial production processes. Carob Türkiye directly supplies carob kernels as industrial raw materials according to the needs of its customers.

Carob kernels, whose quality control is completed, are packaged in accordance with wholesale and industrial trade. 25 kg kraft paper sacks can be used for standard commercial orders. During packaging, appropriate packaging conditions are provided for the transportation, storage and shipment of the product. Depending on customer demand, order quantity and usage area, different industrial packaging solutions can also be considered.

Packaged carob seeds are stored in clean, dry and orderly storage conditions until shipment. The sacks are stacked regularly on pallets to ensure that the products are protected in a controlled manner during storage and logistics processes. In the storage area, attention is paid to maintaining the moisture, cleanliness and general hygiene conditions of the product.

Before shipment, the products belonging to the order are checked, palletized and made ready for loading. The packaged carob seeds are prepared and shipped in accordance with the customer's order quantity and logistics requirements. As Carob Türkiye, we supply carob raw materials from Turkey to world markets; we deliver carob seeds to our international customers for use in food and different industrial applications.

The process, which starts with the processing of carob fruit, is completed with the separation, cleaning, classification, quality control, packaging and shipment of the seed. By focusing on preserving the physical integrity and commercial value of the product at every stage, we aim to supply our customers with regular, reliable and industrially suitable carob seeds.

Carob Gum vs. Xanthan and Guar Gum

Three of the most well-known hydrocolloids used in the food industry for consistency, stability and texture control are carob gum (E410), guar gum (E412) and xanthan gum (E415). The first two are galactomannans obtained from the endosperm of plant seeds; xanthan is a polysaccharide produced by microbial fermentation. Although these three gums are often mentioned side by side in the same product group, their chemical structures, behavior in water and interactions with each other are markedly

Locust Bean Gum in Cheese and Dairy Products

Carob gum (E410) is a galactomannan of vegetable origin used as a thickener and stabilizer in the dairy industry. It is often added to formulations in combination with other hydrocolloids to limit water release during storage in cream cheese and spreadable cheeses, to reduce serum separation in fermented products such as yogurt, kefir and buttermilk, and to provide a fuller texture in cream and milk desserts.

What is Carob Gum (E410)?

Carob bean gum is a natural polysaccharide in galactomannan structure, obtained by grinding the endosperm part of the carob seed.
